Tightening Abdominal Muscles

Naukasana strengthens the navel region and keeps it in place. The advantage of this asana is that it relaxes and rejuvenates the nervous system and energizes the body.

Most Indian health systems believe nabhi or the navel centre regulates the function of the digestive system. According to them, as long as the nabhi is in the correct position, no digestive problem, no digestive problem can occur. however, the nabhi can get displaced due to lifting heavy weights or by the twisting of an ankle.

They check the naval’s position by inserting a finger into the navel in the morning when the stomach is empty. The naval is pressed down a little so that we can feel a slight throbbing if the position of the navel is correct, if it is not, various methods can be applied to bring it back to the right place. This may sound improbable but it often leads to a dramatic improvement in the digestive system, Yoga too considers manipura chakra at the naval centre as one which controls digestion.

To maintain the good health of this chakra, the anti-gastric pawan muktasana series is recommended. Of then all, naukasana series is ideal to strengthen the navel region and to keep the nabhi in its place.
